The Digital TV Transition: What You Need To Know About DTV

PREPARING FOR THE

DIGITAL TELEVISION TRANSITION

Staff from the Federal Communications Commission will visit the main Kanawha County Public Library meeting room on 123 Capitol Street, Charleston on April 23, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. to discuss the digital television transition.

On February 17, 2009, all full-power broadcast stations in the United States will stop broadcasting on analog airwaves and broadcast only in digital. Consumers will need to be prepared for the change, especially if they watch signals broadcast “over-the-air” on an analog television.

The FCC’s staff will provide background information and resource materials concerning the transition and answer questions about what consumers need to know to prepare for the transition.
