The Mayor’s Office of Economic and Community Development funds the following through the City’s Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG)

City of Charleston Rehabilitation Program (CORP)

This loan is designed to provide assistance and incentive to income qualified owner-occupant individuals and/or families to keep their homes in good repair and in compliance with the Charleston City Code and HUD’s Section 8 Existing House Code.   It currently provides up to a $20,000.00 loan to accomplish this goal.

West Virginia Day celebration tickets on sale this week

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – West Virginia’s rising star, Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr., will be the featured attraction during FestivALL Charleston 2012 on West Virginia Day next June at the Clay Center.  FestivALL Executive Director Larry Groce and Mayor Danny Jones announced today that the Logan County native will be the headliner for the Mayor’s Concert, which will move to Wednesday of FestivALL week as a major West Virginia Day celebration.

Banners promote Charleston events calendar

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The City of Charleston, Charleston Wayfinding Commission and Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau are launching a new Web site to promote public events in Charleston, including arts, culture, recreation, athletics and more. CWVNOW.com will link on-line users to the Charleston CVB calendar page so people can search for events that are happening in Charleston now and in the future. The Wayfinding Commission is promoting the site with a new banner program as well.
