Police - Civilian - Secretary / Chief’s Office

FROM: May 7, 2008 TO: May 21, 2008

CLASSIFICATION: C-4

WAGE/SALARY: $23,200.71 to $27,584.06

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Assist with posting payroll, Distribute subpoenas, Help maintain personnel files, (Provide clerical/secretarial support to include answering phones, typing correspondence, Utilizing fax and email), Interact with the public, Sort and distribute mail, Assist with monthly reports on vacation and sick time for police department employees. Assist Chief Office personnel with other assigned duties.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS : Minimum High School Diploma or GED.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : Secretarial experience, including administrative support and complex clerical duties.

OTHER COMMENTS : Must have good organizational skills and accuracy. Skills needed for Grammar, database and spreadsheets. Ability to type, write, and maintain detailed records, retrieve and compile information from multiple sources. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to interact with officers and the general public in positive manner. Must pass background investigation and MUST maintain confidentiality. Must have a valid WV drivers license.

 

Street Department - Telephone & Radio Operator (Night Shift)

FROM : May 7, 2008 TO: May 21, 2008

CLASSIFICATION: PG-4

WAGE/SALARY: $24,895.35 to $27,317.25

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Operate two-way radio, answer telephone, receive and record complaints from the public, read city maps and give directions.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS : High school diploma / GED.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to operate a two-way radio and telephone.

OTHER COMMENTS: Good communication skills and voice clarity. Possess the ability to deal with the public.

 

Civic Center - Ticket Taker

CLASSIFICATION: IPT (Irregular part time) called only when needed as event schedule dictates.

WAGE: $6.55 per hour

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Must be organized and have good communication skills. Primary responsibilities is to collect or scan admission tickets and passes from patrons at events, greet patrons attending events, examine tickets or passes to verify authenticity, refuse admittance to persons without tickets or passes. Must be dependable, well groomed, have telephone or cell phone (no long distance telephone numbers) and transportation to and from facility. Able to stand for long period of time and able to walk up and down stairs. Ability to follow instructions and communicate well with the public and fellow employees.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Minimum High School Diploma or GED.

OTHER COMMENTS:

- Can not pick and choose which event you will work

- Does include days, nights and weekends

- Work 3 plus hours per event when called

- Must be on time for shift

Civic Center - Box Office Ticket Seller

CLASSIFICATION: IPT (Irregular part time) called only when needed as event schedule dictates.

WAGE: $6.55 per hour

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Primary responsibilities are to sale admission tickets to patrons at events.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Minimum High School Diploma or GED.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience working with the public. Experience requiring basic math computation. Must be computer literate.

OTHER COMMENTS:

-Ability to communicate, cooperate and work well with fellow employees and the public.

-Ability to follow directions as given and ability to execute basic math skills.

-Must have valid driver’s license.

-Ability to work unsupervised after receiving assignment.

- Does include days, nights and weekends

- Must have telephone or cell phone and transportation to and from facility.

Civic Center - Usher

CLASSIFICATION: IPT (Irregular part time) called only when needed as event schedule dictates.

WAGE: $6.55 per hour

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Must be organized and have good communication skills. Primary responsibilities is to assist patrons, check tickets to make sure patrons are in the correct location and assist them to their seats, guide patrons to exits or provide other instructions or assistance in case of emergency, provide assistance with patrons' special needs, such as helping those with wheelchairs, direct patrons to restrooms, concession stands and telephones, settle seating disputes and help solve other customer concerns, Must be dependable, well groomed, have telephone or cell phone (no long distance telephone numbers) and transportation to and from facility. Able to stand for long period of time and able to walk up and down stairs. Ability to follow instructions and communicate well with the public and fellow employees.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Minimum High School Diploma or GED.

Civic Center - Event Services Staff

CLASSIFICATION: IPT (Irregular part time) called only when needed as event schedule dictates.

WAGE: $8.00 per hour

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:  Must be organized and have good communication skills. Will observe and report activities and incidents at job task location, provide public relations, information, and engage in preventing illegal entry. Assists with preserving order and health and safety of patrons and may act to enforce directives for the job task location site pertaining to personnel, patrons, and premises.  Provide assistance with patrons' special needs, such as helping those with wheelchairs. Must be dependable, well groomed, have telephone or cell phone (no long distance telephone numbers) and transportation to and from facility. Able to stand for long period of time. Ability to follow instructions and communicate well with the public and fellow employees.  Will receive and sign for full employment requirements upon employment. Background check and drug screening required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Minimum High School Diploma or GED.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience working with the public.

OTHER COMMENTS:

- Work a minimum of 3 plus hours per event when called

- Must be on time for shift
