The Charleston Parking System strives to serve parking customers in a professional, courteous and efficient manner in collecting metered and off street parking space rental fees and fine payments; to provide fair, consistent and practical enforcement and adjudication of City parking ordinances.
The City provides parking in six municipal garages located throughout the main business district for 3,486 vehicles. Rates for parking in all garages operated by the City are as follows:

In addition to these garages, the City operates several parking lots, which have a total of 1,122 parking spaces.
Some of the lots included are located at Lewis Street, Morris Street, Smith Street, the Old Farmers Market
and the Municipal lot, which is next to the Municipal Auditorium and across from the Charleston Town Centre Mall.
The Parking System is responsible for the installation and maintenance of the 1,155 meters interspersed throughout
the business district, including downtown Charleston, the West Side and East End of Charleston, as part of the
infrastructure to facilitate access to local merchants. By using meters to set time limits, the number of motorists
who can have access to local attractions and businesses is increased.
If you have received a parking ticket, payments may be made in room 103 of City Hall, which is located at
501 Virginia Street East, Charleston, WV 25301 or you may leave your payment in one of the City's
courtesy boxes, which are located at the following:
