Mission:  The City of Charleston Office of Human Resources strives to attract, retain and educate a diverse workforce possessing core competencies that are aligned with Charleston’s vision of being the Cultural, Recreational and Business Capital of the Appalachian Mountains.  

The Office of Human Resources supports the City’s vision and overall strategic objectives by designing, implementing and administering a broad range of human resource policies, plans and programs that are consistent with federal, state and local laws.  We desire to meet and exceed our core constituent expectations by providing courteous, efficient and effective service.

The Office of Human Resources provides assistant and support to existing employees, perspective employees, retirees, benefit providers, Department Heads and other City officials.  Our services include, but are not limited to the following areas:
