WIENER DOG RACES

Charleston West Side Main Street, Kanawha Charleston Humane Association, and the Susan G. Komen Foundation present the 2 nd Race

Stonewall Jackson Middle School Lawn

Pre-Registration – Until June 16 th: Send entry form and check to West Side Main Street, Attention: Libby Ballard, – 303 Washington St. W., Charleston, WV 25302. Cost - $15.00 per Wiener. Checks payable to West Side Main Street. Includes participation in the Wiener Parade and Costume Contest.  

Day of Race Registration : 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. Cost $20.00 per wiener.

FEATURES:

• Phil Pfister – 2006 World’s Strongest Man will appear to MC and start the races. National Anthem.
• Shaded Bleachers Open in Race Area : 10:30
• Vet Corner- special care issues for dachshunds – 11:30 a.m.
• Blessing of the Pets : 12:00 a.m.
• Wiener Dog Splash Pools : Opens at 11:00 a.m.
• Food and Beverage Vendors : Open at 10:30 a.m.
• Wiener Dog Merchandise Tent : Opens at 10:30
• Wiener Dog Caricature Artist: Sketches available all day.

 

PARADE OF THE WIENERS AND COSTUME JUDGING – 12:30 P.M.

• (Categories: Most Original, Cutest Boy Wiener, Cutest Girl Wiener, Best Wiener/Owner Theme Costume).

RACE SCHEDULE: Race heats begin at 1:00 p.m. (Times are approximate)

1:00 p.m. Puppy Division - Ages up to 1 Year

1:15 p.m. Adult Division I Ages 1 Year to 5 Years

1:45 p.m. Adult Division II Ages 5 Years to 10 Years

2:00 p.m. Senior Division Ages 10 years and above

2:15 p.m. Race for the Cure Open to All Ages  

AWARDS :

Cash Prize for 1 st place in each division

2 nd place winners receive merchandise prizes.

Drawings will be held for doggie and owner prizes by entry ticket throughout the day!
