COUNCIL COMMITTEES
The members of City Council sit on various committees which are responsible for bills that are referred to their respective committees.  There are nine primary committees, including Finance, Streets and Traffic, Environmental and Recycling, Rules and Ordinances, Employee Committee and Parks and Recreation.  After a bill is introduced to Council, it is referred to one or more committees for discussion, evaluation and then a vote of recommendation to City Council is taken.  Then the bill is sent back to Council where it is voted on in its original form and at this point amendments to the bill made be made from the floor.
