Mother's Day Like None Other
Anna Jarvis never planned a Mother's Day like this one! It began with a two hour worship service at a local church in Banska Bystrica - longer than usual because everything was translated for us. It was a privilege to speak to the congregation on behalf of Hope for Children, an initiative begun twelve years ago to assist the Roma ("Gypsy") children in their struggle to survive in this culture that marginalizes them. We look forward to continuing the conversation tomorrow to see how we and our Slovak counterparts can best address the many needs of these precious children.
After several other adventures, including tours of Slovenska Lupa Castle and a fish farm in nearby Lubietova, we ended the day at Spa Brusno, thanks to the generosity of our wonderful hosts.
